An unsecured loan is a loan that is not backed by collateral. Unsecured loans are based solely upon borrower’s credit rating and strength of the business. Generally 50% is the maximum lend available against these types of loans not backed by collateral security. However; more lend is possible in certain circumstances. Product types include Franchising, Cash Flow Funding, Business Start up etc.
A secured loan is a loan in which the borrower pledges some asset (e.g a car or property) as collateral for the loan. In the event that the borrower defaults, the creditor takes possession of the asset used as collateral. Generally 80% is the maximum lend available against collateral backed securities. Product types include Commercial Property, Investments and Agri loans.
